Party in the Pool

Well it's officially summer when you start going to the pool right? Cohen had his very first pool experience this weekend. He absolutely LOVED the water! Even though mommy almost drowned him in 1 foot 6 inches of water! He slipped I swear! Anyways, we all had a good time. We also got pics of him at his first picnic that weekend also!

Squashed

Well, looks like we have an eater! Cohen took his first bite of food at 5 months! Bannanas were on the menu. I was just curious one day to see if he would like them and surprisingly he did! So his grandma Carol went out and bought him some veggies and he liked those too. I decided to get serious and put him on a proper food schedule so I bought a "how to make your own baby food" book. I make some summer squash in the food processor and froze it in ice cube trays. Cohen eats 2 cubes a night. He LOVES it! It's by far his favorite so far. Next week we will start on sweet potatoes. Looks like we have a growing boy!

Easter Party

On Easter Sunday, Noah's and my family gathered in our little 900 square foot historic house for an Easter Party. Thank goodness our back yard is HUGE! It was very fun. 18 adults and 7 kids. We had an easter egg hunt, lazagna, salad, dessert, and turned the hose on the kids! It was a blast.

Little Stinker

Cohen Jonathan Field was born October 5th, 2007 and he is the light of our lives. Noah is Mr. mom lately with me being in nursing school 4 days a week. He takes him to work and has a little "day care" set up for him there. It works out pretty good. Noah is the best husband and father ever.
Well Cohen is just about 6 months now, starting on solids (sweet potatoes and butternut squash) and trying to crawl. A couple days ago he was pushing backwards instead of forwards. Now he is on his toes and hands (no knees on the ground) trying to bear crawl. He is a strong kid. He has the BEST temperment. If you ask any of our family, he never cries. Thats because he loves people. He cries from time to time at home, but only when he's hungry or tired. So he IS the best kid. He is teething too so that makes it hard for him to be in a good mood. So we have like 100 pictures of the kid but here are some of the latest and best. Enjoy!

The Beginning

Ok. So I'm trying the blogging thing. Hopefully I will do well. We have Facebook accounts and myspace accounts and a picture website, but usually you have to have an account to look at that. So hopefully this will be able to reach everyone I want it to and keep them updated.
So lets start with our little family. I married Noah Field in March of last year so we just celebrated our 1st anniversary! And boy was it a memorable one! I decided to cook my wonderful salmon dinner with red potatoes and red pepper sauce. So we both had a long day at work/school and Cohen (our little one) is being such a good boy and letting me cook dinner. So I saute the salmon on the stove top and then transfer it into the over to finish cooking. When it's done I take it out with the oven mitt and sit it on the stove. I then start to place everything perfectly onto the plate to make a professional presentation of our anniversary dinner. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who HAS to clean while I go, so i then go to throw the salmon skin in the trash. The salmon skin is still in the frying pan so I was just going to take the pan to the trash and shake the skins out. Well...I forgot the oven mitt this time and just grabbed the handle like it was never in the oven. So I basically burnt my hand off. The pan went crashing to the floor, salmon skins and oil everywhere on our brand new wood. And there I was left with a bubbling hand. Turns out the burn wasn't all that bad, it didn't really even blister much. But let me tell you, it was PAINFUL. So I didn't want to eat. We ended up calling Dr. friend to get us a prescription for Silvadine cream, which didn't help the pain much but sped up the healing. Anyways, I will always remember my first anniversary because of that! Noah was so sweet and said it was the best dinner he'd ever had:)
